catholic schools day

Catholic schools day recount
On Wednesday 22nd we caught the train to St Brigid’s for catholic schools day. When we got there we went to church and said some prayers to start off the day.
Then we went back to St Brigid’s for morning tea (free sausages!!). During morning tea it gave me some time to make new friends. I met a girl called Bridget and a boy called A.J, also I met these really cool boys they were called Dohn and Joseph they were from Philippines. We made up nicknames for ourselves like dohn was Dohnut and Joseph was Jonut and I was mad-mad our groups was called team frendship.
We got into our groups and went off with some teachers. In our group we played lots of get to know each other games like: wink murderer, bump and days of the week. Afterwards we said our goodbyes and caught the train back to school.
This experience gave me some social time and I met new people. I tried my best in the games which were really fun!! It was not what I expected because it was more fun, i really enjoyed it.

my timestables

every Friday we have a basic facts test. I need to improve on my 4's ,8's,6's and 7's timetables. I really need to work on my fast knowledge as I am quiet slow at multiplying and division. So far I have practised daily but not enough for me to achieve my score by far. Our whakatoki
for this term is that if your reach for the highest mountain if you fall you will reach the lofty mountain. This means if you succeed and you try your best you will get somewhere but it will take some time.

ASB LESSON

On the 14th of may tuesday we had an ASB financial literacy lesson. The main ideas in the lesson were save money dont just spend it. Save it for a certain thing and set an goal for yourself. We had something that was called a CAR goal (it stands for Clear Achievable Realistic),  And there were 5 rules: put a picture of what you want to buy in your wallet, spend some on you but save some too,do your homework, reward yourself along the way and make sure you can save up for it. I think I need to work on my money management because as soon as I get some money I spend it on something straight away.

my favourite day in the holidays

dad woke me up at five in the morning!!!!. It was Anzac day he told me we were going to the dawn parade. So I got up and washed my face. I got into some warm clothes and wore my woolly hat(it was a chipmunk!). We went out straight away and had no breakfast, dad said that we would get it afterwards. We got a hot chocolate on the way  to Upper-hut  and met outside the library.

All  of the soldiers were lined up and they started walking to the drums, we followed them. We kept walking and stopped at the memorial. some people went up and said a speech, and then they said a poem, and then we sung a song and we finally sung the national anthem and it was finished(finally). I went up and put a poppy on the memorial and some people put wreaths down.

We left and went to McDonald's, I got a BLT bagel and a juice and dad got a coffee and a big breakfast. Afterwards we went for a walk and looked at some shops in Wellington city. And then we went to Te Papa and I saw the game masters exhibition. It was sooo cool. I played sims most of the time, but there was lots of other games like really old ones and really new ones with touch screens. we stayed there for most of the day after that I was really tired.
